The Panchshil Foundation believes in universal education, and has undertaken various projects to uplift our community by building schools and providing scholarships.
The focus on education stems from the fact that education is only accessible to a small percentage of the nation’s youth. Moreover, less than 40% of students from lower income groups achieve matriculation, and from those only 12% percent manage to secure a graduation or higher degree. This realization led us to understand that the biggest impact we could make for a community is to create and sustain learning opportunities for children.
Schools
The Panchshil Foundation has supported the construction of several schools and facilities for education both directly and with the group company.
- The EON Gyanankur School - the first English-medium pre-primary school in Kharadi
- Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla English medium school in Uruli Kanchan
- Proper toilets in the Yerwada school for girls
- Jain schools in Uruli Kanchan and Chinchwad
- Planning and support for an all-girls school in Chinchwad
- Donation of computers to village schools and other technology-driven products to help the children from rural areas become more technology savvy as well as expand their reach to educational material through the internet.
- The Panchshil Foundation also has an ongoing collaboration with Rotary International in the field of education to support rural schools with infrastructure, enable school children to have better access to e-learning systems, award meritorious students for higher education and several other such initiatives.
- The Panchshil Foundation regularly participates in the Sponsor-a-Child initiative with Plan India
- Supported the Maharashtra Girls' Education Society (MGES) in building Huzurpaga Girls’ English Medium School, Mangadewadi, to educate semi-rural students
